The Golden State Warriors have become first team in NBA history to start a season 16-0.

The Warriors beat the LA Lakers 111-77 at Oracle Arena to achieve the feat, surpassing the previous mark of 15-0, set by both the Washington Capitols of 1948-49 and the Houston Rockets of 1993-94.

Reigning MVP Steph Curry continued his stellar start to the season, top scoring with 24 points, nine assists and four rebounds.

Draymond Green scored 18 and Leandro Barbosa scored 13, as Golden State led from start to finish, thanks to a huge 30-11 opening quarter.

Julius Randle, Lou Williams and Larry Nance Jr. all scored 10 points for the Lakers.
