Kevin Durant and Steph Curry led Golden State to an impressive 113-91 win over Cleveland in the Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Friday.

Durant finished with 38-8-8 while Curry chipped in with 28-6-10, as the Warriors did enough despite those two stars being the only two players to score in double figures.

LeBron James finished with eight turnovers to go with his 28-15-8 line in 40 minutes, but couldn't get enough help from the rest of his side to help shut down the home side.

It was James' eighth Finals appearance of his career, and despite having three rings to his name, it was the seventh time his team has lost the opening game of the series.

The Warriors led from start to finish at Oracle Arena, and took a five-point lead into quarter time.

They extended their lead to eight by the main break, and came out firing in the third quarter, ultimately pushing the margin beyond Cleveland's reach.

Golden State outscored the Cavs 33-20 in the third term to take a 21-point lead into the final break, and the fourth quarter was nothing more than a formality.

The Warriors will now take a 1-0 series lead into Game 2, which takes place at Oracle Arena on Monday (AEST).
