Steph Curry scored a game high 40 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated New Orleans Pelicans 111-95 on night one of the NBA.

The Warriors' players received their Championship rings prior to tip-off, before the Curry show got started, with the 2015 MVP scoring 24 points in the first quarter.

The Warriors outscored the Pelicans in every quarter besides the last, opening up a 10 point lead at half time and a 19 point lead at the last change.

Aussie Andrew Bogut scored 12 points and Draymond Green scored 10 points for the Warriors.

Anthony Davis scored 18 points for New Orleans, while Ish Smith scored 17 and Eric Gordon scored 14.
