Just weeks after leading the Wallabies to the World Cup final, Australia's captain Stephen Moore is set to extend his contract with the ARU and Brumbies through to the next World Cup in 2019.
Moore will be a key re-signing for Australian rugby at a time of mass defection and transition in the contracting landscape.
The hooker, capped 102 times, would be 36 by the time the next World Cup is played and provided he remains in the Wallabies team, could overtake Nathan Sharpe as the second-most capped Australian behind record-holder George Gregan (139).
Moore was recently chased by Irish club Munster but the move was blocked by Ireland's Australia high performance director David Nucifora. It's unclear whether Moore's ARU contract extension will feature any clauses for foreign stints.
